Nature’s Wonders Reimagined: Adele Rae Florist at Fleurs de Villes WONDER 2026

The serene paths of Vancouver’s VanDusen Botanical Garden were recently transformed into a breathtaking canvas of scent, colour, and high-fashion botanical artistry. Fleurs de Villes returned with its magnificent WONDER 2026 exhibition, celebrating the planet’s most extraordinary natural marvels through large-scale floral design.

As passionate storytellers through the medium of flowers, the team at Adele Rae Florist was profoundly honoured to participate. Our design studio, through the expert hands of our artist Nina Koba, brought two entirely distinct global ecosystems to life, using thousands of fresh, hand-selected stems to craft pieces that speak to both the eye and the soul.

For our florists, this exhibition was an emotional journey connecting our local community with the wider wonders of the world. Here is a behind-the-scenes look at our two custom installations: the poetic Lavender Fields of Provence and the untamed Galápagos Islands.

A Symphony of Serenity: The Lavender Fields of Provence

Our first installation transported guests across the Atlantic to the rolling, sun-drenched hills of Southern France. The Lavender Fields of Provence are world-renowned for their soothing symmetry, intoxicating fragrance, and mesmerizing waves of violet.

In the emotional language of flowers, lavender represents purity, devotion, and serene grace. To capture this poetic essence, our design focused on delicate textures and a sophisticated, multi-tonal purple palette.

• The Floral Palette: We layered wide varieties of real lavender, elegant delphiniums, structural salvia, and soft, velvety ocean-song roses to mimic the natural rolling contours of the French countryside.
• The Artistic Vision: The couture mannequin emerged from a cascade of flora as if stepping directly out of a dream in Provence. Visitors paused to inhale the deeply calming aroma, proving the sensory power of thoughtful floral design.

Untamed Grandeur: The Wild Galápagos Islands

From a European dreamscape, our second installation dove straight into a prehistoric, volcanic wonderland: Ecuador’s isolated Galapagos Islands. This installation demanded an entirely different artistic energy—one rooted in bold structures, ancient evolution, and wild, uninhibited biodiversity.

The Galápagos signify resilience, adaptation, and the raw magic of Mother Nature. We wanted to celebrate the breathtaking contrast between volcanic earth and the vibrant life that thrives against all odds.

• The Botanical Textures: This couture piece featured striking tropical anthuriums, exotic orchids, architectural monsteras, and dense, textured mosses. We integrated dramatic, dark foliage to ground the display, mimicking the islands' signature volcanic rock.
• The Sculptural Impact: Bold, avant-garde, and bursting with life, this installation captured the striking evolutionary wonders of the Pacific, leaving onlookers completely spellbound.
