💧 Caring for Your Terrarium
This large, humid, closed terrarium is designed to be a self-regulating ecosystem. Once established, it requires minimal interaction.
Light: Place your terrarium in a location that receives bright, indirect light (e.g., near an east-facing window or set back from a south-facing one). Crucially, avoid direct sunlight, as the glass can intensify the heat, causing the plants to burn or overheat the entire system.
Watering: Water very sparingly—the biggest risk is overwatering. Check the soil only every few months. If the moss looks completely dry and the soil is pale, add only a few tablespoons of distilled water. If the lid is closed, the water should recycle indefinitely.
Condensation: A slight fog or mist on the inside of the glass is normal and means the ecosystem is working correctly. If the glass is constantly covered in heavy fog, the terrarium is too wet. If this happens, remove the glass lid for 12 to 24 hours to allow excess moisture to evaporate, then replace the lid.
Maintenance: Occasionally, remove any dead or yellowing leaves with long tweezers to keep the habitat clean and prevent mold growth.
